This week's trailer roundup features a multi-genre shooter game based on a novel, a post-apocalyptic tactical RPG with permadeath, an action adventure game about a mailman with a magic torch, a horror game born of the developer's experience with depression in the wake of an unsuccessful previous release, an RPG about a hospitalized boy overcoming problems with the power of imagination, a digital TCG which aims to be as deep as Magic and as accessible as Hearthstone, a competitive multiplayer typing game, and a fantasy action RPG brawler with both co-op and versus play.


Bedlam (RedBedlam)

This is the first of two completely different games named Bedlam in today's trailer roundup. This one, made by developer RedBedlam, is based on a novel named Bedlam by Scottish author Christopher Brookmyre. In it, a woman is trapped in a video game world and must hop from shooter to shooter, traveling through different genres and across different eras of shooting games in her search for a way back to the real world.


Bedlam (Skyshine Games)

Skyshine Games' Bedlam is a post-apocalyptic tactical RPG with strong roguelike influences which is being developed using The Banner Saga's engine. They are trying to create a fast-paced battle system to combine with permadeath in the interest of creating a meaningful experience for players.


Courier of the Crypts

Windows | $TBA | Second half of 2015 | Ludum Dare original


Courer of the Crypts is a 2D adventure game in which the player is a courier on his first errand, a dangerous job that will take him deep into the crypts. A magic torch will help the player avoid and defeat monsters in this game which began as a Ludum Dare entry in 2011.


Neverending Nightmares

Retro/Grade developer Matt Gilgenbach took his experiences with depression in the wake of Retro/Grade's launch and used them for inspiration for this horror game. It's currently 10% off for its launch.


Rakuen

This game is a story-heavy, no combat RPG about a boy who is hospitalized indefinitely and asks his mother to take him to the world of the storybook she's been reading to him. Together, they set off on an adventure in which the stories of the book characters and other nearby hospital patients intertwine. As the game goes on, the boy learns more about his hospital neighbors and their struggles, learning more about empathy and hope.


Spellweaver

This digital TCG aims to be along the lines of Magic: The Gathering while retaining the accessibility and ease of play characteristic to Hearthstone. It will be free to play, and although they're almost ready to release the game, they are running their own crowdfunding campaign to allow them to support new features sooner than later.


Typefighters

Windows, Mac, Linux | $TBA | Sometime 2014 | Greenlight | Demo


A competitive typing game for LAN or online play. It has eight game modes, shown in the trailer above, and will support user-made word lists. It will also be cross-platform.


Warlocks

From the developer: "Warlocks is an action RPG/brawler game set in a fantasy world invaded by shadow monsters.
