I don't know what For Each Our Roads of Winter is about, only that it's a game the color of a foggy lake, and I'm kind of in love.
Steel bridges weave in and around towering black cliffsides, all under the gaze of a white hot sun. Three glyphs, some bearing the name of Celtic kingdoms or ancient heroes. It's all still mysterious, in its pre-alpha state, but I'd be in denial to claim that isn't part of its allure.
Its Steam Greenlight page describes it as an "episodic exploration" game inspired by the likes of Myst and Pathologic, while its teaser trailer shows off more of the crisp, photorealistic world you'll get to explore.
The game's developer, Orihaus, is also responsible for the gorgeous glitchscapes of Hunting Anubis and Xaxi, the first a haunting future flightsim rendered in sharp greyscale, the second a "virtual memory palace" that resembles a more visually coherent Memory of a Broken Dimenson.
Despite its stunning photorealism, For Each Our Roads of Winter carries the same ominous, otherworldly look and feel of its developer's previous work, like some cold metallic future.
