Halloween party ideas 2015

sinkhslair01.png Klas Persson's Sinkh's Lair has been around for quite a while now. However, I'm pleased to announce that today's the very first day where you can finally play its stable version released after months of intense development. It's a hard dungeon crawler made in the style of ZX Spectrum's games, but unlike any of them, its playability has been increased by a long shot thanks to the many arcade elements that have been thrown in the mix. Much like the surprise when you find an outdated game still fun, Sinkh's Lair will likely keep you hooked no matter what. Even because turning off the challenge too soon, would simply feel outrageously embarrassing if you're even half as prideful as I am.

Here, you play as a warrior who chose to venture in a dangerous dungeon due to his own greed. In fact, even though it's known that the ancient halls store more gold than you can possibly imagine, an enormous beast is said to be patrolling the corridors, and the air, is also extremely poisonous. For that matter, you can only stay 60 seconds before dying of asphyxiation, and while you look for treasures to bring back home, hordes of zombies and skeletons will try to slow you down. The combat is a bit awkward due to the limitations of the pseudo-isometric view, but slaying as many enemies as you can, is the only way to acquire gold and important power-ups.

sinkhslair02.png Monsters' drops, however, aren't always useful. Sure, there are the orbs that grant you the power of doubling up the gold you pick up, but at the same time, hidden inside their corpses there may be a bear trap or even a bomb. The latter, for instance, can kill you almost instantly if you're caught in the explosion.

Clearly, the goal is to make it to the top of the online leaderboards, but doing so, can't really be done be simply paying a lot of attention. You need to be quick, never miss a shot, and most importantly, you have to consult the dungeon's map to conceive first a successful route. The layout is always the same, so by keeping in mind the location of the bottle of oxygen, as well as the leather booths' one, chances of survival can be greatly enhanced.

sinkhslair03.png You'll grow accustomed to dying pretty soon, that's inevitable, but as soon as you master the combat, and learn how to deal with the annoying archers, you'll definitely be one step closer to defeating Sinkh's Lair for good. The game can be played directly in your browser by heading over its official website.
