Halloween party ideas 2015

If we're going to send robots to do our dirty work for us, we really need to start giving them their power-ups first. None of this 'finding equipment in the field' crap. What kind of cheapskate team of scientists sends a robot on an exploration mission without the proper equipment, anyway? Given how many times I suspect the poor robot will die with me running the exploration mission to Experimental Station Alpha(which is available right now), I'd assume it would be cheaper to outfit it with the right parts BEFORE we sent it out rather than keep sending replacement robots for the ones that I accidentally break while contending with the heavy machinery, nasty creatures, and hostile bosses that have taken over the station.

Despite my complaints to the board of cheapskate scientists, we've still sent a poorly-equipped little robot to Arvi Teikari's Environmental Station Alpha. There are power-ups on site in the lush, strange jungles and fields the station is filled with, so at least more clever robot pilots will be able to get stronger as they explore. You are expected to figure out what's happened here while you're at it, so you'll also be looking for various notes and documents as to why the facility is in its current shape. Mind you, there have been some issues with the pixelated plant, animal, and machine life that are still wandering around the station. They're a little on the hostile side, so try to keep the robot intact as best you can.

This might sound like some grand adventure fraught with danger, but the soundtrack seems to indicate something more peaceful despite the prospects of imminent death. The song from the trailer is very calming, and gives the impression that the animals and machines have learned to live with each other. They may have done some nasty things with the people who were there, but now, the station has become its own living ecosystem and I am the stranger within it. Maybe we should leave Environmental Station Alpha to the creatures that have taken over and watch it grow, then. Maybe we could learn a lot from the creatures co-existing, and...no? No I guess we're still sending the robot. Want in?

Environmental Station Alpha is available for $7.99 on Steam. For more information on the game and Teikari, you can head to the game's site or follow them on Google +, YouTube, and Twitter.
