It feels good to find a shortcut in a racing game. Real good. Making high-risk maneuvers in Mario Kart 64 is pretty stressful, but when you plunk back down on that rainbow pavement with a ridiculous lead on your pals, you can't help but feel a little smug. Now, there's a game where you need to pull off those kind of moves constantly if you're hoping to win. Sticking to the track will just have you lagging behind in Wonderful Laser Inc.'s Super Impossible Road. If you want to finish first, you'll need to take a leap of faith.

Super Impossible Road's simple visuals make sure nothing is in the way of you and your white-knuckle dives from the race track. The black track is visible for a great distance, showing the player all of its various twists and turns ahead. This is so you can know when to leap right off the edge, controlling your freefall as best you can in hopes that you land on solid ground below. You're on a timer during your leap, though, so don't expect to just hop off the top and fall to the finish line. If you don't touch down before a few seconds pass, you'll get taken back to the last checkpoint you passed. Which might be very, very far away, depending on where you jumped from.

Super Impossible Road's high-risk racing is heading to the PS4 at some point in the future. For now, you may want to get yourself used to racing with no brakes and only acceleration. Did I mention that you can't slow down? The blood-curdling cries of "Cheater!" should be pretty loud among your circle of friends once you all settle in to make your own attempts to tumble your way down Super Impossible Road's treacherous tracks.

For more information on Super Impossible Road and Wonderful Lasers Inc, you can head to the developer's site or follow them on YouTube and Twitter.
