Halloween party ideas 2015

sentris-bitsummit-1.pngThis is the third of what will be four trailer roundups for games that were at BitSummit. This one has action, music, pretty pictures, and fun multiplayer.

Move or Die
Windows, Mac, Linux | $20 | Early access

From developer Those Awesome Guys: "Move or Die is a fast paced 2D multiplayer party game based on the idea that if you stop moving, you explode! Go through various fast game modes, each with unique rules and levels and try to be the last one standing!" I enjoyed this aptly-named party game during the one chance I had to play it at BitSummit. The Move or Die booth was always busy.

MUGEN VRITRA
iOS, Android | Free | Available now

This is a scrolling shoot 'em up designed for touch screen devices. It's a spin-off of paid game VRITRA.

Oh My Godheads
Windows | $TBA | Release TBA

Oh My Godheads is a simple multiplayer game of 2v2 capture the godhead. The gods don't like their heads being held for too long, so in addition to playing keep away, players must also contend with the punishment for holding the head for too long. Each godhead has a different punishment, ranging from the manageable (player movement controls are reversed) to the devastating (the godhead explodes).

Pavillion
PS4, Vita | $TBA | Sometime 2015

Pavillion is a puzzle game in which the player must turn lights on and off to guide the character, who is afraid of the dark. Along the way, the player gets pictoral clues to what is going on in the story. When I encountered this game at the first BitSummit, Visiontrick was showing it on an iPad, but it seems they're going to PlayStation systems for its launch.

PICO PARK
Windows | $TBA | Free alpha

This is a co-op platformer for 2 to 10 players. The difficulty scales based on the number of players so that the nature of the challenge is the same no matter how many are playing. They have a two-level development version available in English.

Sentris
Windows, Mac, Linux, PS4 | $20 | Early access

Sentris has come a long way since entering early access. It's got a much better interface, the visuals have been upgraded, there are more modes and songs and options. My favorite thing that's changed is both a visual and practical change, which is replacing the waveform symbols used previously with honeycomb symbols. It paved the way for colorblind friendliness and even if you see all the colors just fine it's a lot easier to understand what's going on with the honecomb symbols.

Strange Telephone (JP link)
Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android | $TBA | Sometime 2015 (No English announced)

This is a room escape point and click adventure that revolves around a truly strange telephone. Through a combination of making the right phone calls and exploring the environment, the player must get out of the locked room... or get eaten by a monster made of darkness.

This Starry Midnight We Make
Windows | $10 | Available now

This Starry Midnight We Make is a story-driven "celestial growth simulation game" from CAVYHOUSE, the makers of Forget Me Not: My Organic Garden. Growing strange things is so far a common theme in CAVYHOUSE's games and I am very interested in seeing what strange things they'll have players grow next.
