You probably know that one weird trick where you rub your belly and pat your head at the same time and how some people cannot do that, right? Well, that is exactly how I feel when playing LUMBERMANCER, a super-strange game about using dark lumber magic to summon logs and hunting for the ultimate treasure, which happens to be a sandwich.
There's only one tiny problem: you control both the Lumbermancer, who can merely hobble around, stay out of trouble, and collect stuff, and his creations at the same time. Considering that the night is dark and full of spooky ghosties, that's no mean feat. Your logs have to do all the hard work: killing monsters, planting seeds, and taking care that your light doesn't go out. What starts as a pleasurely stroll through haunted woods quickly turns into utter chaos, as you try to wrap your brains around controlling two characters at once. But hey, it's for a noble cause, right? Uh... right.
I'm not quite sure what creator Roger von Biersborn was thinking (or drinking, for that matter), but take a look-see at this wonderfully strange trailer and tell me it doesn't look extraordinarily funny and lovely, I dare you.
