Halloween party ideas 2015

In preparation for his upcoming roguelike Gunmetal Arcadia, which is slated for release next February, J. Kyle Pittman just released a prequel of sorts. Gunmetal Arcadia Zero doesn't quite have the features of its big brother - there are no procedurally generated levels - but it certainly has the same old school charms, just like Pittman's earlier Win The Game titles.

Featuring classic platformer action and the same ingenious CRT emulation that made Pittman's previous games such a joy to play, Gunmetal Arcadia Zero has you playing a young elf in a city of Tech Elves, fighting against some ominous evil that threatens the city. All of this feels satisfyingly old-school and should make you look forward to the release of the "main game" next year.

If you happen to have purchased the Humble Monthly back in May, the game should already be in your library. If not, you may count yourself lucky, because it's currently available on a pay what you want basis over at itch.io. Better hurry, though, because in less than two days, the price reverts back to $5.99 - which is, of course, still more than reasonable. In addition to all that, Gunmetal Arcadia Zero is looking for Greenlight votes.

You can purchase Gunmetal Arcadia Zero from itch.io and the Humble Store. For more information, visit the game's website and follow developer J. Kyle Pittman on Twitter.
