Nessa & Demelza, their pet goose Captain Honkers, and the pickled head of an undead knight will find trouble while biking around their town in this surreal, charming adventure in 1980’s childhood.
Knights and Bikes follows the pair and their friends as they explore town from on top of their bikes. Instead of finding the usual trouble, like scraped knees or a lost toy, they end up dealing with some monstrous presences that seem to have been stirred up. Fortunately, the childhood tools of water balloons, frisbees, and duck boots are more than enough to handle any trouble they stumble across.
Friendship is a key part of Knights and Bikes, so hopefully you can bring your own pal along for the local or online co-op. An AI friend will be provided for you if not, but you may want to swap between the two kids here and there if you play it this way. Each child has unique powers, so you’ll need to experiment with both in certain combat or puzzling situations. Friends are greater when they bring their unique skills together, after all.
As kids set free on bikes, exploring is a big part of what you’ll want to be doing every day. Finding places you’ve never seen before is always a joy (especially with the game’s heartwarming visual style), and you might even unearth some cool treasures for yourself. Maybe they’ll be valuable enough that you can barter them for neat new bike parts, too (which unlocks new powers).
Knights and Bikes is looking like a lovely trip back to a certain era of childhood, and the imagination and adventure that came every day you set out into the world.
Knights and Bikes is available now on PS4, Steam, and GOG.
