The creator of To The Moon has taken aim at Your hearts one more time, but Impostor Factory adds a darker flavor to their tragic-comedy work.
Fans familiar with the series may not even be ready to be blindsided by this new and slightly-more-murdery iteration. Can you make heads or tails out of this time-tampered murder mystery? Or figure out what is up with that suspicious cat?
For those unfamiliar with To The Moon or Finding Paradise, both games follow a pair of doctors that can allow people to relive their lives and try to correct past mistakes one last time. Both games had extremely powerful emotional elements, having sprinkled in giggles to dilute the emotional gut-punches hidden in the game. Just like the predecessors, Impostor Factory will allow you to play it as a standalone game, but be prepared to feel things you never expected to in a game that has so many fluffy jokes inside. Have tissues at the ready.
Taking a darker route, Impostor Factory revolves around Quincy, who has been invited to a suspicious party at an even more suspicious and secluded mansion. With elements like these, the party is sure to be great, right? Unfortunately, it kind of puts a damper on the party when people start dying. Like, a lot. Quincy might be regretting this party, but to his fortune, there’s a time machine in the bathroom – so may as well make some use out of it. Maybe even find some clues regarding a mysterious long cat.
You will be tasked with getting to the bottom of this mystery, all while dealing with pesky time-travel elements and tentacles. Don’t ask. Things are gonna get weird. If you’re ready for a wacky, weird, funny, and sometimes outright mind-boggling adventure, mark your calendars for Impostor Factory.
Impostor Factory is set to release at the end of 2020. In the meantime, you can check out the official website or add it to your Steam Wishlist.
