Halloween party ideas 2015

Randals1.pngWe do have to admit that the average adventure game protagonist is a raging, often manipulative and generally anti-social kleptomaniac. Happily, Randal, the star of Randal's Monday (Windows, Mac), is pretty much open about being all this and a bona fide sociopath. And is most appropriately voiced by the brilliant Jeff Andersom of Clerks' fame.

And do you know what can turn a generally detestable character into a delightful game protagonist? Three things: sharp writing, an excellent sense of rather cynical humour and a few moments of niceness or, at very least, of justified nastiness -- Randal's got them all and is lovely to look at too. As is the rest of Randal's Monday. It's a vibrant, beautifully animated and absolutely gorgeous in its cartoon way point-and-clicker and the best looking game to ever trap you in Groundhog Day inspired scenario of a Monday that never ends.

Randals2.pngRandal's Monday also happens to be an incredibly funny adventure. One that will cause you to laugh out loud and even learn to accept the hundreds upon hundreds of pop and gaming references it insists on bombarding you with.

As for the puzzles, well, they are a mixed bag really and more than once border on the insane and insanely difficult. Thankfully a hint system has been built-in to allow all of us mere mortals who couldn't beat the original Discworld without a walkthrough to actually enjoy the thing.

Randal's Monday is out now for Windows and Mac on GOG and Steam. If you grab it before the 19th of November you'll also get a nice 10% off discount too.
