Halloween party ideas 2015

I'm not sure if any of our readers have noticed, but I like silly games. For me, gaming has always been a great way to escape reality, and there is no better way to do that then to play something that is extremely far from reality. Coffin Dodgers is a concept that is hilarious, and thus right up my alley. Play as an elderly retirement village resident riding a pimped-out jazzy as you race the Grim Reaper in an attempt to survive. Ridiculous, silly, and entertaining. Coffin Dodgers definitely grabbed my attention.

Coffin Dodgers recently exited the dark depths of the Early Access realm, and is now fully released on Steam. Being a fan of arcade racers (and also having recently gotten back into Post Apocalyptic Mayhem), I was excited to see a new entry into the genre appear on Steam.

Coffin Dodgers throws you into the fuzzy slippers of one of 7 retirement village residents. Your goal is extremely simple: beat the Grim Reaper in a racing championship. Your very life is at stake in these races, so it is important that you come out on top if you want to survive. These races take places over 4 environments, with each environment containing its own smaller tournament that you must win in order to progress to the next stage.

The championship itself is composed of 13 different races, where your racing skills will be heavily tested. As you make your way through the various mini-tournaments, you will progress to the next environment. If you manage to survive long enough to get to the very last race, you'll find yourself going head-to-head against the Grim Reaper himself, as you race through all of the previously-visited environments.

To be completely frank, Coffin Dodgers does not feature as much content as I would have liked to see. However, considering the game's $11 price tag, it's definitely not fair to compare it to the amount of content available in other kart racing games which are available as a full-priced release. I think that 7 characters is a pretty fair amount, but I feel that the game really lacks a bit in its environmental diversity. I'm hoping that if the game gains enough success, we'll see more environments in the future.

The "story mode" of Coffin Dodgers does not last all that long, unfortunately. However, as with most racers, the real meat of the game is contained within its time-trial mode, as well as its local and online multiplayer races. I personally think that Coffin Dodgers is the type of game that would be a ton of fun to sit down and play with a few friends on a game night. It's silly, simple, and entertaining, and will provide a fair few hours of laughter.

Coffin Dodgers is a solid choice for anyone looking for a simple and fun game to play with friends. While it does lack a bit in the content department, if you take the price into consideration it is definitely easy to understand why. While more tracks and power-ups would be great, it's really nice to be able to customize your scooter, as it gives the game a nice bit of variety and a more personal feeling.

If you're looking for a fun, multiplayer game to play with friends that is simple to learn, then Coffin Dodgers is definitely worth a look. It's currently available on Steam, where it has just come out of Early Access, for $10.99, and is currently on a 20% discount for a couple more days.
