Halloween party ideas 2015

yearwalk1.jpgYear Walk, the highly praised 2013 adventure game from Simogo, is making the leap (or walk?) from iOS and desktop platforms to the Wii U sometime later this year.

Simogo sort of teased this reveal all the way back in February, when its official Twitter account posted a blurry image of the Wii U logo. An earlier blog post from the team also spoke about "revisiting" one of their past titles.

Now the news is for real, as confirmed by Simogo in a new blog post.

Simogo writes: "As you can imagine we are beyond excited about this; we've been wanting to make something for Nintendo hardware ever since we started Simogo, and the day is finally here."

This isn't just a straightforward port, either. It was Simogo's goal to make Year Walk not only feel new and exciting on the Wii U, but at home.

With the help of Dakko Dakko, Simogo has totally rebuilt the game for this new platform in a way that "rightly integrate[s]" the Wii U gamepad. In this version of Year Walk, you'll be able to glance down at the second screen on the Wii U controller for quick access to the map, encyclopedia, and optional hints, or to jot down notes with the stylus. There are also built-in motion controls.

Year Walk on Wii U is also the only version available in multiple languages, including English, French, Spanish, Italian, and German.

yearwalk2.jpgLastly: secrets! Simogo promises some new things as well, but won't reveal more than that. There's no release date yet either, but Simogo's blog estimates sometime late this quarter or early next.

"It's hard to imagine that it was not made for Wii U originally - that's how home it feels," said Simogo.
