You've probably heard the idiom "burning bridges". It can be a long, involved process to build those bridges, but only takes a poor decision or single moment to burn one. That metaphor is made tangible in Dry Cactus' Poly Bridge, a construction puzzler that left Early Access today after a year of updates, improvements, and additions. A good bridge takes planning, a consideration of weight and physics, smart use of your tools, adapting to the terrain and chasm at hand. But poor balance, an unstable area, any number of engineering errors, and that elaborate span comes crashing down.

Across the 105 levels of its campaign and many other user-made challenges, Poly Bridge first teaches you the intricacies of its bridge-building tools, then tests your skills with a varied array of gaps to connect. They vary in length, or have areas of terrain to place support beams, or are intersected by passing ships and helicopters, or require multiple lanes. But no matter the challenge, you construct each bridge through a simple, easy-to-use interface, connecting beams, cables, roadway, hydraulics, and more in elaborate ways to support the vehicles that'll pass across.

With those tools, your bridges can range from a simple suspension bridge to drawbridges and elaborate multi-stage spans that can shift between heights. Or perhaps a ramp, or catapult, or ferris wheel. Whatever you construct, you can share your creation through a slick in-game GIF exporting and Twitch integration.

Poly Bridge is available for $11.99 on PC, Mac, and Linux. You can find the game on Steam and Humble Bundle, and learn about the game and developer Dry Cactus through their site or social media pages on Twitter and Facebook.
