A young girl, Zoe, finds herself sucked into a video game world in Alwa's Awakening. Zoe has likely seen enough of her own games to know that platforms will need to be hopped, enemies will need to be clobbered with magic spells, puzzles will have to be solved, and sharp pixel art and chiptune tracks will need to be savored for her to save the day.

Alwa's Awakening draws some inspiration from Battle of Olympus (an excellent choice), giving you an interconnected world you can explore as you find the game's secrets and rough up its enemies. Zoe has access to a couple of magical powers that will help her figure things out and give enemies a hard time, requiring you be clever in order to make the most of what she can do.

Honestly, Zoe's probably played enough games that she can get home from this world on her own, but if you want to join her to savor the backgrounds and Robert Kreese's wonderful soundtrack, you'll hopefully be able to some time this Winter.

For more information on Alwa's Awakening and developer Team Alwa, you can head to the game's site or follow them on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter.
