With its clean, minimalist visuals Videoball almost hides the ridiculous fun players can have with a few friends and it. It doesn't look like the kind of game that will leave you howling as you scramble to hit a ball into a goal, or laughing with friends as you all fling charged shots across the screen. Its pure simplicity makes it widely-appealing, though, creating a perfect game to pick up with pals whether they play games or not.
In Videoball, you control a little ship. That ship shoots beams that can hit a ball, which you'll want to shoot into your goal. You can charge those shots to hit the ball harder, but this tends to make it whip around the match. Then again, in all the chaos you can shoot your opponents, temporarily stunning them to make your job easier. That's it, and through this simplicity, it makes it easy for anyone to just grab it and play.
Somehow transcending sports games while technically playing like a sports game, Videoball is just fast-paced fun for a couple of players.
Videoball is available for $9.99 on Steam, PS4, and Xbox One. For more information on the game and developer Action Button, you can head to the developer's site, the game's site, or follow them on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter.
