Any time I bring up Dicey Dungeons, I cannot help but talk about just how much strategy this game can wring out of the chance roll of a six-sided die.

You’re battling against Lady Luck on a deadly game show for fame (but mostly fortune), and your only friends are the dice in your hands. Dicey Dungeons gives you so many options of what to do with those dice when they’ve been rolled, though, using high rolls, low ones, even numbers, odd ones, or specific rolls, all of which can be used for various types of attacks, status ailments, or healing tools as you explore lethal dungeons.

It’s not about looking for that high roll, but instead finding ways to wring as much damage out of whatever you roll. As such, it’s about building a suite of equipped tools and attacks to make the most out of various probabilities. You’re constantly gauging what you think the dice will do most, then creating an offensive build of moves that will make the most use out of them. It is something that will keep your brain firing hard every moment you play, making for some engaging, involved play that keeps dragging you back in, over and over again.

Combining this compelling play style with an adorable art style makes it easy to keep on playing. Fighting challenging enemies is fun and all, but when they’re as goofy and cute as the foes in Dicey Dungeons, you just want to see what sorts of sinister deserts, vile boybuilders, and dangerous bunnies you can battle. With the added bonus of various character types that add even more wild options to your die rolls and you can have a staggering amount of fun with a handful of dice.

This has been a really strange year for me this year, and I guess that is going to reflect in my game of the year selection for 2019.

I use my brief time here at IGP trawling through itch.io and other corners of the internet – I tend to steer clear from anything that goes near a publisher, or even picks up awards prior to release. Yet this year, I’m picking Bad North – specifically the mobile version which released earlier this year.

Bad North is developed by Plausible Concept (that’s a small team of three), and the game has been published by Raw Fury – a boutique publisher – which w/ould normally put it outside of my wheelhouse. In addition to all of that, it’s available on basically every format under the sun. That requires a level of connections and/or funding which most developers I normally champion can’t dream of.

But, Bad North is beautiful, it’s succinct, and it’s the perfect distillation of strategy. It delivers on so many notes: Its design is both minimalistic and incredibly smart – artist and designer Oskar Stalberg has a genius-tier relationship with procedural-generation. Squad units are individually generated and pathfinding is entirely dynamic and on the fly.

I still remember playing Bad North for the first time, back at Gamescom 2017. At the time, the actual campaign wasn’t implemented; instead, you could play through skirmishes on a variety of generated maps. Nothing held each generation together, there was no persistence, there weren’t even really leader characters as the current game holds. However, even back then, Bad North was an impressive technological feat, and made for a juicy play experience – characters were sucked up to the input, time slowed, the world glistened as it rotated, and combat was fast and furious.

All of those elements persist in the final version, but now it is complete with a run-based campaign with rogue-lite elements. Think of FTL or Crying Suns, but instead of escaping deadly aliens or rebels, you’re instead escaping a deadly wave of Viking invaders. While there’s no event system as you might find in other games of the type, there’s instead upgrade trees, items to find, and new units to recruit as you try to outpace the marauders.

For me, all of the above, delivered in a distilled strategy experience where an island takes no more than five minutes to survive (but a rewarding campaign can spell hours of tension and edge-of-your-seat moments) is a perfect example of careful design genius made real with clever technology and developer dedication.

Bad North on mobile feels like the purest form of the purest game. Bad North: Jotunn Edition is my game of the year for 2019.

Pemimpin Umno, Nazri Aziz menyifatkan Ahli Majlis Tertinggi Umno, Lokman Noor Adam bersikap kebudak-budakan kerana menggesa parti mengambil tindakan terhadap bekas naib presiden, Hishammuddin Hussein.

Beliau yang juga bekas setiausaha agung Barisan Nasional berkata, sebagai ahli Majlis Tertinggi Umno, Lokman sepatutnya membawa perkara itu ke mesyuarat pimpinan tertinggi parti, bukannya mendedahkan kepada umum.

“Letakkan kepentingan parti atasi segala-galanya, bukannya individu. Sewaktu Umno bersidang pada Perhimpunan Agung Umno 2019, itulah forum tertinggi.

“Apabila Presiden Umno, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi mengumumkan tidak ada tindakan disiplin diambil terhadap Hishammuddin dan disokong dalam perhimpunan agung, maka ia sudah jadi keputusan,” katanya.

Lokman sebelum ini mendakwa Zahid dan Setiausaha Agung Umno, Annuar Musa melindungi Hishammuddin susulan penangguhan sesi perjumpaan lembaga disiplin pada Khamis lalu.

Beliau turut menggelar Hishammuddin pengkhianat parti dan mendakwa ia bukan kali pertama presiden atau setiausaha agung Umno campur tangan dalam siasatan membabitkan pemimpin itu.

Lembaga disiplin sebelum ini menyerahkan surat tunjuk sebab kepada Hishammuddin atas dakwaan beberapa kesalahan yang dilaporkan, termasuk mempengaruhi ahli Umno Sabah menyertai PPBM.

Nazri yang juga bekas ahli Majlis Tertinggi Umno berkata, laporan mengatakan Hishammuddin, yang cuba membentuk “kerajaan pintu belakang”, dipanggil lembaga disiplin tidak memberi sebarang makna selepas Zahid membatalkan siasatan ke atasnya.

“Soal kata ada urusan campur tangan itu tidak betul kerana semua yang berlaku adalah mengikut perlembagaan. Apa-apa aduan dibuat perlulah dibuat kepada Majlis Tertinggi, bukannya kepada lembaga disiplin parti.

“Majlis Tertinggi yang akan maklumkan dan ambil keputusan meminta siasatan dibuat. Apa-apa keputusan lembaga disiplin mesti serahkan semula kepada Majlis Tertinggi untuk pengesahan.

“Ini bermakna, kuasa sebenar adalah Majlis Tertinggi bukannya lembaga disiplin. Apabila lakukan siasatan dan dapati ada bukti individu itu bersalah, keputusan juga perlu tetap dibawa ke Majlis Tertinggi untuk pengesahan.”

Beliau percaya sebarang keputusan Majlis Tertinggi membabitkan Hishammuddin dibuat selepas memikirkan kepentingan politik parti pada masa ini.

Lokman membuat laporan kepada lembaga disiplin parti selepas Hishammuddin didakwa antara lebih 20 ahli Parlimen BN menemui Menteri Hal Ehwal Ekonomi, Azmin Ali di kediaman rasminya di Putrajaya bulan lalu, dipercayai untuk menghalang sebarang cubaan memaksa Dr Mahathir Mohamad melepaskan jawatan perdana menteri.

Recapturing your childhood is hard, especially those really indescribable feelings. But Wattam has an incredible ability to bring me back to the simpler days of chaos and childhood friendships.

You know, the ones where you instantly click because you both like dinosaurs or Lego. It’s not an easy feat to stir up these feelings so positively, and that is one of the main reasons it’s my Indie Star of 2019.

For those unfamiliar with the magic that is Wattam, you play as a square character to start: The Mayor. The Mayor is quite lonely, which only makes their plight that much more compelling. You instantly want to help out this cube fellow. To your good fortune, you will find no shortage of potential new friends in this world that is bursting at the seams with joyful feelings. You’ll be able to switch around between all your new friends as you obtain them to create some hilarious scenes and solve increasingly goofy puzzles. Hold hands with your new pals, form a long chain to dance in, chase friends, enjoy mini-games -the list goes on. Your goal is to make friends and have a blast – which is easy with The Mayor’s exploding hat.

Wattam rewards those who throw all caution to the wind and dive in head, or hat, first. Usually blowing up your friends sounds terrifying, but you’ll quickly find that these explosions are a cherry on top of a wild party, your buddies clamoring for more ka-booms. It’s the best opportunity to push the game’s goofy physics to the limits. You may need to coordinate some wacky explosions to complete some puzzling circumstances and meet your newest friends. Don’t feel like you have to follow instructions, either. There are definitely some secrets to find if you are curious enough. This is especially true if you bring along your friend in local co-op mode to share this unique experience.

These wild characters, their instantaneous bonds, the fun soundtrack, and the utter joy I feel when watching it all unravel with not a worry of penalty is what makes Wattam a special game. When I heard that Keita Takahashi, developer of Katamari Damacy, was at the helm, I knew I was in for a treat. I couldn’t tell you far my expectations were surpassed when I played Wattam for the first time. It makes me smile without noticing and makes my heart swell in a nostalgic way. You can’t get that in every game you play, but when you do, it’s a wonderful feeling. I hope that if you choose to pick up Wattam, you’ll feel the same childlike whimsy I did.

PETALING JAYA: Sudah tiba masanya kerajaan menilai semula kewajaran elaun yang diberi kepada menteri dan pegawai tertinggi sektor awam dalam keadaan ekonomi negara hari ini.

Penganalisis dari Universiti Malaya, Awang Azman Awang Pawi berkata, mana-mana elaun yang sudah tidak relevan wajar dipotong lebih-lebih lagi dalam suasana ekonomi negara yang tidak mengizinkan pembaziran.

“Selain pemansuhan elaun kritikal, kerajaan sepatutnya memikirkan bagaimana nak potong elaun menteri yang terlalu banyak. Sudah tiba masanya kerajaan menilai sama ada gaji dan elaun mereka sesuai atau tidak dalam keadaan ekonomi sekarang ini.

“Jadilah kerajaan yang mendengar suara rakyat yang sekarang ini mahu elaun menteri dipotong. Banyak lagi elaun lain yang boleh dikaji, yang tiada keperluan,” katanya ketika dihubungi baru-baru ini.

Rabu lepas Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) mengesahkan pemansuhan Bayaran Insentif Perkhidmatan Kritikal (BIPK) kepada bakal penjawat awam baru yang dilantik bermula 1 Jan 2020.

Kenyataan itu menerima reaksi pelbagai pihak, termasuk Menteri Kesihatan, Dzulkefly Ahmad dan Menteri Belia dan Sukan, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman yang membantah pemansuhan itu.

Malah di media sosial, rata-rata pengguna menuntut kerajaan memotong elaun menteri, bukannya elaun kakitangan awam terlibat.

Mengulas lanjut, Awang Azman berkata, elaun pegawai tertinggi kerajaan seperti kategori Jusa dan Turus juga perlu dinilai dan mana-mana elaun yang sudah tidak wajar perlu dimansuhkan.

“Bukan sahaja golongan berpendapatan di bawah gred 54 diberi perhatian, tetapi perlu dilihat dalam kalangan pegawai Turus dan Jusa ini.

“Gaji ketua pegawai eksekutif syarikat berkaitan kerajaan (GLC) juga harus dinilai semula yang dilihat terlalu besar,” katanya.

Katanya lagi, kerajaan tidak seharusnya hanya mengharapkan rakyat berkorban untuk negara.

“Bukan kerajaan sahaja meminta pengorbanan daripada rakyat, tapi rakyat juga ingin wakil rakyat berkorban daripada segi elaun diterima yang dilihat tidak munasabah. Sama-sama berkorban.

“Apabila berada di tampuk kuasa mereka seharusnya menjadi lebih sedar dan insaf dengan jurang kedudukan rakyat dan kedudukan mereka yang luas,” katanya lapor FMT

Critters for Sale is a master work in atmosphere, creating a sense of menace and possibility that permeates every aspect of the game.

Inspired by North African and Middle Eastern folktales, the game’s two available short stories take you to a dangerous desert and a surreal night club. Both could be hostile for various reasons, but developer Sonoshee weaves visuals, sound, and winding narrative to create this sense of constant danger. Everything shudders and shivers, like the world is about to distort into some hellish space.

In this disturbing space, anything feels like it can be the right answer to move forward, though. It feels like a place where you must give in to a kind of fluidity of meaning, where any answer can mean death, but any answer can mean moving forward into the cosmos. The story grabs hold tight, whispering hidden meanings behind the words and visuals as you cannot shake this sense that you are walking into real danger. But still you move forward, compelled by darker things lurking beneath.

Critters for Sale is both compelling and chilling, captivating in its storytelling even if you constantly fear for what will happen to you next. Combined with this unsettling visual style that loads everything with fear, as if the very fabric of reality means you harm, as well as audio that makes you certain that your nagging fears will all become true, it is a staggering work of horror, and I am eagerly awaiting the chapters that come next.

Presiden PKR Anwar Ibrahim menggesa kabinet membincangkan semula keputusan menamatkan pemberian bayaran insentif perkhidmatan kritikal kepada penjawat awam profesional yang menyertai perkhidmatan awam bermula tahun depan.

Beliau berkata ia bagi mengambil kira keresahan dan kebimbangan yang disuarakan rakyat berhubung perkara itu.

"Saya berpendapat perkara ini perlu dibincang semula oleh kerajaan dalam sidang kabinet pertama 2020.

"Para menteri juga disyorkan menggunakan ruang kabinet bagi menyatakan pandangan mereka," kata anggota parlimen Port Dickson itu dalam kenyataan, hari ini.

Penamatan bayaran insentif perkhidmatan kritikal (BIPK) kepada doktor, jururawat, jurutera dan profesional lain yang menyertai perkhidmatan awam bermula tahun depan diumumkan Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) menerusi pekeliling bertarikh 20 Disember lalu.

BIPK merupakan satu daripada sembilan elaun yang dihentikan kerajaan, termasuk elaun hiburan kepada setiausaha sulit, dan insentif kecekapan berbahasa Inggeris.

Mereka yang sudah menerima elaun akan terus mendapat bayaran tersebut, termasuk pekerja kontrak yang kontraknya telah diperbaharui.

Menurut soalan lazim yang disertakan dalam pekeliling JPA, jumlah elaun perkhidmatan kritikal antara 5 hingga 15 peratus berdasarkan gaji asas penerima, dengan jururawat mendapat jumlah tertinggi (15 peratus).

Antaranya pegawai perubatan, ahli farmasi dan pensyarah di kedua bidang ini menerima kadar rata RM750.

Soalan lazim itu turut menyatakan BIPK diperkenalkan kerajaan pada 1992 untuk kedudukan yang sukar dipenuhi.

Bagaimanapun, menurutnya lagi, semakan 2019 mendapati kerja tersebut tidak lagi menepati kriteria yang ditetapkan, dan maka jawatankuasa kabinet yang dipengerusikan Perdana Menteri Dr Mahathir Mohamad memutuskan tiada lagi pemberian baru untuk lantikan bermula awal tahun depan.

Polis hari ini menafikan terdapat bendera komunis yang dikibarkan semasa perarakan seperti yang ditularkan dalam media sosial sejak malam semalam sebaliknya perarakan tersebut adalah sempena Perarakan Chingay Pesta Pulau Pinang Ke-11 yang diadakan di Jalan Raja Uda, pada Ahad.

Ketua Polis Daerah Seberang Perai Utara SPU Noorzainy Mohd Noor berkata menerusi rakaman video berdurasi 1 minit dan 15 saat itu, lelaki yang merakam video perarakan tersebut dengan jelas menyebut bendera komunis semasa perarakan yang bermula 6 petang Ahad.

“Sebenarnya tiada sebarang perarakan yang membawa bendera komunis berlaku seperti yang ditularkan sebaliknya ia perarakan Chingay yang disertai oleh pelbagai lapisan masyarakat dan badan pertubuhan bukan kerajaan (NGO).

“Perarakan tersebut bermula dari Dataran Pemuda Butterworth hingga ke Jalan Raja Uda yang dianjurkan oleh Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Pembangunan, Pelancongan, Kesenian, Kebudayaan Dan Warisan Negeri Pulau Pinang serta turut dihadiri Ketua Menteri Pulau Pinang Chow Kon Yeow,” katanya hari ini.

Menurutnya berdasarkan siasatan mendapati bendera yang didakwa perakam video itu sebagai bendera komunis sebenarnya bendera yang dibawa oleh 1 daripada 25 kontinjen perarakan Chingay yang tertera tulisan Kiwanis iaitu sebuah pertubuhan sukarelawan di Malaysia.

Noorzainy berkata 50 pegawai dan anggota polis telah bertugas semasa perarakan yang dihadiri lebih 1,000 peserta itu dan mustahil pihaknya tidak menyedari jika terdapat bendera komunis dikibarkan semasa perarakan tersebut.

“Dakwaan seperti yang dinyatakan dalam video tersebut adalah tidak benar sama sekali dan saya ingin menasihatkan orang ramai agar tidak sewenang-wenangnya menularkan rakaman yang tidak sahih semata-mata untuk menarik minat netizen yang lain serta menimbulkan kekeliruan,” katanya.

Katanya polis kini sedang mengesan lelaki yang merakam dan menularkan video tersebut untuk membantu siasatan berhubung dakwaannya.

Beliau turut meminta orang ramai agar tidak terus berkongsi dan menyebarkan video itu serta berhenti membuat sebarang spekulasi kerana dakwaan dalam video tersebut langsung tidak benar malah ia tiada kaitan dengan bendera komunis lapor FMT

In recent years, hatred has become something of a staple in many countries. With many events furthering the hate, it is easy to lose hope in humanity.

Yet little pockets of love built upon the simple goal of being kind to others, exist.

Kind Words by Popcannibal is perhaps more interactive forum than game. It connects small pockets of kindness to the rest of the world by a courier named Ella the Female Mail Deer (sound familiar?). Anonymous kind words, be they of advice or consolation, are sent and received. Even the occasional person seeking recommendations!

It is easy to fall into the trap of thinking that the game is another over-the-top game about spreading positivity. One that espouses randomly giving strangers hugs or worse, socializing. I kid, mostly. What warms my heart to Kind Words is not insofar the whole message about positivity, but to create a dialogue with global citizens.

When I played the game myself, my inner empath had me going ahead to answer another person’s letter. Within minutes, they had sent a sticker back in appreciation of my words. Stickers are the only thing you can send in reply to someone’s kind words, or even in your own message to another. These stickers could be used to decorate one’s room. The stereo radio also allowed the player to change tracks as they eased themselves into the atmosphere of Kind Words.

When I sent my first problem into the world, replies came in swiftly, and each of them felt so genuine and warm. I felt as though its sender was whispering those very words into my ear. There was one in particular who told me that I was lucky to have someone that loved me despite my problems and that they wished me happiness.

Even if you’re not a natural empath, it is very easy to feel connected to anonymous strangers across the globe. Kind Words allows us to trade stories and experiences, knowing the human experience is universal. As E.M Forster, an English novelist once said, “Only connect! […] Live in fragments no longer.”

My father once said that, “You can’t live on fresh air and sunshine.” I say, “Kind words is much like fresh air, love, and sunshine – it keeps us alive, and it gives us reasons to live.”

Un Pas Fragile finds strength in facing fears, showing the power in but a single step toward meeting our goals and bettering ourselves.

Camille’s journey to become a ballet dancer is one fraught with all kinds of troubles. She’s clumsy. Bullied on the bus. Has troubles at home. Her life is a quagmire of problems, yet, step by step, she continues toward her dream.

And you feel the weight of her troubles as you play. She looks nervous a lot of the time. Her dance moves are unsure. She is timid and small. All of these weights are closing in on her, looking to minimize her and make her presence ever-smaller in this world. To make it so that she can’t get what she wants. Everything seems to want to push her down.

Still, every moment in this game is a small step, highlighted by a short, striking scene. Camille is not a tower of inner strength pushing toward being a ballet dancer. She shows the sheer courage of a single action done toward becoming who you want to be. That every thing you do, no matter how small, is a show of determination. These small steps will slowly move mountains. Ever journey is made of these small steps, and Un Pas Fragile celebrates this with its lovely narrative and visuals.

Un Pas Fragile is an empowering game, showing that even when we feel like we’re standing still, we are still taking actions toward who we want to become in the smallest of decisions, and in the simple quiet courage of facing our day and not letting it defeat us. It is the dignity in surviving and moving ahead captured in a tiny ten minute game, and one of the most moving things I played in 2019.

Tambahnya lagi keutamaan bidang pendidikan adalah ke arah peningkatan mutu pelajaran.

"Saya ingin menggesa rakan-rakan khususnya Dong Zong dan pertubuhan Melayu lainnya agar tidak meneruskan dengan sidang anti atau pro Jawi."

Peguam Negara Tommy Thomas akan mempertimbangkan untuk membuka semula kes pembunuhan wanita Mongolia yang dikaitkan dengan bekas perdana menteri Najib Razak, susulan harapan yang disuarakan bapa mangsa supaya kerajaan baru dapat mencari keadilan untuk anaknya.

Dua bekas anggota dan pegawai polis daripada Unit Tindakan Khas (UTK) disabitkan dengan pembunuhan Altantuya Shaariibuu pada tahun 2006.

“Semua orang tahu bahawa tidak masuk akal mereka berdua sahaja melakukan perkara itu,” kata Thomas dalam temu bual pada Jumaat lalu. “Jadi kita tahu cerita itu tidak lengkap.”

Mahkamah yang menjatuhkan hukuman mati ke atas kedua-dua lelaki itu bergelut dengan kekurangan motif pembunuhan, sedangkan kenyataan yang dibuat salah seorang tertuduh, Azilah Hadri dalam akuan berkanun (SD) baru-baru ini menunjukkan kemungkinan terdapat motif di sebalik pembunuhan tersebut, kata Thomas.

“Lebih banyak lagi pihak polis perlu siasat dan kami akan melihatnya,” katanya ketika ditanya sama ada beliau akan membuka semula kes itu.

Azilah sedang mendapatkan perbicaraan semula melalui SD yang dibuatnya dengan menuduh bekas Najib mengarahkannya untuk menangkap dan menghapuskan Altantuya tanpa kesan atas alasan wanita itu seorang pengintip asing yang memberi ancaman kepada keselamatan negara.

Najib menafikan sebarang penglibatannya dalam kes itu. Pada Jumaat lalu, beliau mengangkat sumpah laknat bahawa beliau tidak pernah memberi arahan seperti yang didakwa dan tidak pernah berjumpa dengan wanita tersebut.

Hukuman mati

Pendirian pihak pendakwaan itu akan memberikan kelegaan kepada Shaariibuu Setev, yang menghabiskan lebih 1 dekad mencari noktah atas kematian anaknya.

Dia berkempen supaya Malaysia meringankan hukuman terhadap kedua-dua tertuduh melalui rundingan supaya Australia, yang menjadi tempat seorang lagi tertuduh iaitu Sirul Azhar Umar mendapatkan suaka daripada hukuman mati, bersetuju menghantar pulang lelaki berkenaan untuk memberitahu kisah sebenar di sebalik pembunuhan tersebut.

Shaariibuu berkata beliau tidak mahu hukuman mati dikenakan ke atas mereka. “Melenyapkan pegawai-pegawai ini adalah cara yang janggal untuk menghilangkan bukti,” katanya dalam temu ramah di Ulaanbaatar pada 3 Okt.

Altantuya adalah jurubahasa yang boleh berbahasa Rusia dan Cina, kerana dia membesar dan belajar di Rusia serta Mongolia, sebelum ke China untuk mempelajari bidang ekonomi, kata Shaariibuu.

Saksi-saksi dalam perbicaraan kes itu pada 2007 berkata Altantuya bekerja sebagai penterjemah dan terlibat dalam pembelian kapal selam kelas Scorpene kerajaan, yang kini menjadi subjek siasatan Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia dan pihak berkuasa Perancis.

Altantuya mati di Malaysia selepas dibawa ke lokasi terpencil di dalam hutan oleh kedua-dua lelaki yang disabitkan dengan kesalahan tersebut.

Laporan polis menunjukkan bahawa wanita itu ditembak dan kemudian diletupkan menggunakan bahan letupan C4, yang mana Shaariibuu percaya ia digunakan untuk menghapuskan bukti.

Bekas penasihat Najib, Abdul Razak Baginda, yang mengakui mempunyai hubungannya sulit dengan Altantuya, dibebaskan daripada tuduhan bersubahat dengan pembunuhan itu kerana kekurangan bukti.

Nyamnyams Astrologaster is a short narrative game that has you giving your Elizabethan contemporaries horrible advice.

Uh, I mean perform accurate astrological readings to definitely cure their ills and not make everything worse. Yes, that. It is also the funniest game I have played in years.

You play as Simon Forman, an actual astrologer, occultist, and herbalist active in London during the reigns of Queen Elizabeth I and James I of England. Astrologaster was directly inspired by the real Forman’s casebooks.

Now, Simon has a problem. He wants to attain a true medical licence, but in order to do so, he needs eight letters of recommendation from his clientele. His methods, however, aren’t exactly scientifically sound, using “medical astrology” as a means of deducing what ails his patients. If this mostly sounds like guesswork to you – well, it kind of is. But that’s the joke! Whether you cure a nervous hypochondriac from the dreaded man flu or help an unlucky widow murder several of her husbands, the feeling prevails that you actually have no idea what you are doing.

Astrologaster‘s narrative structure is also impressive. You treat independent cases that become all tangled up in each other later on. It’s an intricate and very silly web that somehow works and is mostly held together by some stellar voice acting and incredibly clever writing. The game’s music also deserves special mention. The short interlude songs that play whenever a character makes their entrance are performed by a choir, making for a delightful addition to a fun, ridiculous game.

Lafaz sumpah laknat oleh seseorang tertuduh di mahkamah tidak mempunyai merit di sisi undang-undang sivil, kata peguam.

Tanpa merujuk mana-mana kes tertentu, Arik Zakri Abdul Kadir berkata hanya perakuan sumpah di depan hakim sahaja yang diterima dalam prosiding mahkamah bagi jenayah sivil.

Jelasnya, kenyataan sumpah yang dibuat di luar mahkamah hendaklah mematuhi prosedur akuan bersumpah (SD).

Bagaimanapun, katanya, nilai SD masih tidak kuat dalam prosiding mahkamah sivil.

“Bukti yang terbaik adalah tertuduh membuat keterangan bersumpah di kandang saksi dalam perbicaraan,” katanya.

Arik bagaimanapun berkata lafaz sumpah laknat boleh dipertimbangkan dalam prosedur mahkamah syariah.

FMT dimaklumkan SD hanya tertakluk kepada 2 perbicaraan sahaja iaitu kes melibatkan muhabalah (akidah) dan li’an iaitu situasi apabila suami menuduh isterinya berzina.

Minggu lalu, bekas perdana menteri Najib Razak bertindak membuat sumpah laknat menafikan beliau pernah mengarahkan bekas pegawai polis, Azilah Hadri atau mana-mana individu lain membunuh warga Mongolia, Altantuya Shariibuu.

Najib pernah melafazkan sumpah laknat yang sama ketika beliau memegang jawatan timbalan perdana menteri 11 tahun lalu di Masjid Guar Perahu, Pulau Pinang, menafikan beliau mengenali Altantuya.

Mengulas lanjut, Arik berkata apa-apa pernyataan yang dibuat oleh seseorang saksi di luar mahkamah mempunyai nilai berat (weight age) yang ringan sahaja.

Malah, katanya, kebiasaannya ia tidak pun diambil kira oleh mahkamah, melainkan pernyataan itu dibawa masuk ke dalam prosiding mahkamah untuk diuji oleh pihak lawan dan dinilai.

“Yang terbaik, ialah pernyataan saksi secara terus.

“Ia merupakan pembuktian yang terbaik, sebaliknya pernyataan saksi di luar mahkamah adalah ‘hearsay.”

Azilah, dalam akuan bersumpahnya mendakwa Najib, ketika menjadi timbalan perdana menteri, memberi arahan untuk membunuh Altantuya.

Altantuya dibunuh pada Oktober 2006 di hutan di Puncak Alam berdekatan Shah Alam, Selangor, dengan tembakan ke kepala sebelum tubuhnya diletupkan.

Najib juga berulang kali menolak tuduhan penglibatannya dalam jenayah itu.

Shovel Knight: King of Cards is part platformer with neat jumping techniques and part Triple Triad-inspired puzzle game, making for a delightful IGP First Look.

King Knight is looking to make his fortune with cards, not realizing just how expensive it is to make a competitive deck in any card-based game. Still, it’s a fun journey to help them, as the game makes use of some sharp, complex platforming. King Knight can do a dash move that causes him to bounce off foes and do an adorable, fashionable pirouette. This move gives him some extra air, and should you land that pirouette on an enemy or breakable object, you’re able to do another dash in mid-air. If this dash hits, you pirouette again and the whole things loops as long as you’re landing on stuff.

This makes for some clever platforming situations, as the dash/pirouette chain requires a fair bit of thought and use of the environment. Bouncing off of objects, enemies, and breakable items is your main source of height and movement, with the results being a chain of complex moves that force you to really examine the space around you to figure out how to get through.

On top of this, there’s a card game where you need to place your cards on top of gems on top of a grid. You can’t just idly place them on the gem, though, but must use the arrows on your cards to bounce your card onto that space in the grid (and bounce foes out of it). It gets quite deep in a hurry despite the seeming simplicity of the rules, adding a compelling diversion that got its hooks in me quick. So basically, Shovel Knight: King of Cards is two solid games in one.

Gatewalkers wants you to team up with up to 3 other players to take on procedurally-generated worlds.

Each world has its own challenges and you’ll have to put your heads together to survive just the climate. Not to mention the things actively trying to kill you.

You will be assigned the role of Gatewalker – one who can travel to different worlds in hopes of saving their own. Unfortunately, world hopping is like a box of chocolates – you never know what you’re going to get. Unbreathable climate, limited water, cold as Canada in January? You need to think quickly to adapt to these circumstances. You’ll have to build fires, make sure you have a healthy supply of food and water, and a safe camp to boot.

This is where having those extra hands will really come in… handy. Perhaps one group can split off and find resources or craft items necessary to survive certain conditions. Another group could lay the smack down on nearby enemies to ensure a restful moment for their comrades. Either way, you’ll need to coordinate to make sure you don’t die before you’ve even started.

The benefits of exploring these massive worlds that are different from your home world is the various new resources you can collect. This, in turn, means more crafting options. Maybe you’ll find that ore or gem you need to complete a full set of heavy armor and staff. Interesting combo, right? Tank and heal! Gatewalkers doesn’t force you into a class box. You’ll be able to combine gear sets to create a powerhouse of a mage or a nimble tank.

Now, with all those customization possibilities and options in mind, you’ll have to have the skill to back it up. You will not be granted the gift of auto-target, here. You’ll need to strategically place your spells or arrows to predict where the foe WILL be, not where it IS. This adds a layer of complexity that some might not be totally ready for, but know this – the enemies abide the same rules. If you’re smart and quick enough, you’ll be able to dodge some vicious attacks and live to see your friends by the fireside.

Gatewalkers is coming in Q2/Q3 2020 on Steam.

Fill them up with lead, slice ’em, blast them with hip-hop beats, or just pummel them – each girl has their own strength.

Taking place in a timeline different from our own, New Koza is a man-made island off the coast of Okinawa. It has quite the personality to boot. You’ll find quite an adult vibe on this island of neon structures, but that’s perfect for those who want to make lots of (dirty) money. Gambling, street meat, seaside lounges – you’ll find plenty of places to spend your ill-gotten cash, and good company to spend it with. Like the dog you can meet.

The detailed pixel art of Orangeblood is astounding, and is only enhanced by the hip-hop soundtrack that fuels this neon-dream. If you’re looking for a raunchy place to get lost in, get lost in New Koza.

Hanipa Maidin mencadangkan bekas perdana menteri Najib Razak memfailkan saman fitnah untuk menolak tuduhan beliau mengarahkan pembunuhan warga Mongolia, Altantuya Shaariibuu, berbanding membuat sumpah laknat.

Timbalan menteri di Jabatan Perdana Menteri itu, berkata rancangan Najib untuk membuat sumpah laknat esok hanya mempunyai sedikit nilai undang-undang.

Once you’ve had your fill of the outdoors, why not design your home for your friend to visit? You’ll want to make it nice and cozy for your company. You can take items you’ve acquired in your day-fighting to craft some cool additions to your house, like a bed or nightstand. Or, you can just craft some new weapons to keep it safe. You can even make a small garden outside for those who are feeling a little more green-thumbed. You’ll want to show off this creation, so invite up to four friends in local co-op to chill out (or go and beat some baddies).

There’s no shortage of things to do. Between fighting, crafting, bosses, puzzles, farming, fishing, goofing off in co-op; if you get bored, that’s on you. Your inner angler may come out once you catch a candy fish. There’s something for everyone here, and maybe for most that is the fighting aspect. Luckily, those who are into crafting will be rewarded for their dabbling by being able to create stronger and more varied weapons, so don’t feel too stuck with a sword if long-range is more your beat.

There’s an undeniable charm in Feel The Snow‘s pixel-art simplicity that just feels downright cozy. After a long day of monster-bashing with friends or crafting your newest weapons, it’ll be nice to spend some time by the fireplace and swap strategies for the next boss. Perhaps this group of friends will be the ones to bring peace to this cold world.

The new world is there for the taking; you just have to grab it. Luckily, you’re a pirate captain and that’s kind of, like, your thing.

It won’t be easy though, as other pirate captains are just as sticky-fingered. Uniseas challenges you to thwart these rapscallions and plunder the entire world with the power of trade & good old-fashioned naval battles.

You’ll be starting as a small fish, so you’ll need to lay claim to some islands quickly. Once you’ve got your flag planted firmly in the soil, it’s time to tackle the economical side of taking over the new world. You’ll want to establish some trading with other islands to boost your wealth, and you’ll need to spend your resources on smaller trade ships to make that happen.

You may feel tempted to build bigger ships from the get-go to take down your competition, but you’ll have to be pretty savvy to pull that off. You may also choose to check out the buildings you can create to bolster your island’s defenses and unlock new structures. You want to take good care of your territory, after all.

Building your wealth slowly to amass a giant naval army while your foes remain uncaring of your presence may be just the proper level of pirating needed. Once you tick off a pirate captain, though, they will be out for your blood and they won’t be shy about it. You’ll have to monitor your relationship with these three opposing captains, as a quick shift into bad blood could spell an end to your plundering days. You can check it on the side of the screen to see who wants to murder you and who thinks you’re still just a pussy willow. Little do they know, by the end of your expedition, you’ll claim every last island in the new world.

It’s December 5th, the night before the Feast of Saint Nicholas, and you’re probably thinking about all of those lovely toys you and the other children will be enjoying the next day. Except, you also know that you’ve been kind of a jerk this year. Maybe you tripped a kid at school. Maybe you were mean to your nice parents. You did something bad, which means you’re on Krampus’ list of evildoers in need of punishment. So, tonight is going to be a bit more frightening than your average child might expect.

You need to stay away from Krampus for this lovely, snowy evening, doing so by staying on the move and collecting the items you need to stay one step ahead of the demon. For the most part, using the right tools should keep you safe, but cardio will also be key when the monstrous beast finds you. Your punishment won’t be light if you get caught, after all. Krampus really doesn’t care for naughty children.

Krampusnacht infuses the holidays with a bit more horror (beyond the usual meetings with certain family members you spend the better part of the rest of the year avoiding). If you need a good scream over something as a break from enforced merriment, it should make for a good old frightful time.

SHY captures the experience of our jumbled minds and actions when we’re too nervous to say hello to someone we want to get to know.

If you’ve ever felt scared to talk to someone, then you know what this feel like. Your mind twists in on itself as you struggle to make the effort just to walk up to them. You move back and forth as you endure a tug-of-war in your own head. If you do manage to walk up to the person, it’s like your mind has locked up, or that it just refuses to give you the words you want to say. Nothing in you seems to work as it should.

SHY makes you live through this feeling by continually jumbling your controls. You know all you have to do is walk up to the person and say what you want to them, but the means of doing so shift every few seconds. You could be rushing to your potential new friend with determination, but then that same button sends you in the opposite direction. Then, you;re scrambling to figure out which button brings you close to them again. The same goes for dialogue you need to guide out of your mouth, making chat a constant struggle. And if you’re silent for too long, your opportunity will pass.

SHY is impressive in just how quickly it captures that feeling of being tangled up, and how the simplest of actions swirl around in your head and become impossible when you’re nervous and shy.

Peguam Muhammad Shafee Abdullah semalam membuat kenyataan bahawa berdasarkan "maklumat yang sangat dipercayai” tetapi tidak boleh disahkan oleh dirinya bahawa banduan itu pernah dibawa keluar pada Februari tahun ini.

Peguam yang mewakili bekas perdana menteri Najib Razak itu walau bagaimanapun, tidak mendedahkan identiti VVIP berkenaan.

"Di luar penjara, bukan di dalam penjara. Ini apabila dia sedang menunggu hukuman mati. Ini benar-benar langgar protokol, tetapi seperti yang saya katakan, saya tidak boleh mengesahkannya, saya sedang cuba untuk mendapatkan kepastian,” katanya.

Shafee membuat dakwaan berkenaan susulan tindakan Azilah yang memfailkan semakan kehakiman terhadap keputusan mahkamah persekutuan yang mendapati dirinya bersalah kerana membunuh warga Mongolia Altantuya Shariibuu pada 2006 dan hukuman mati yang dijatuhkan ke atasnya.

JABATAN Penjara Malaysia mengesahkan bekas pegawai Unit Tindakhas (UTK) Azilah Hadri tidak pernah dibawa keluar dari Penjara Kajang sepanjang tahun ini.

Menurut kenyataan media jabatan itu di Kuala Lumpur hari ini, Azilah tidak pernah dibawa keluar dari Penjara Kajang sejak 15 April 2015.

“Kali terakhir dia dibawa keluar dari Penjara Kajang bagi urusan menghadiri perbicaraan di Mahkamah Majistret Sepang.

“Tugas mengiringnya bagi menghadiri perbicaraan itu dilakukan selepas Penjara Kajang menerima Perintah Mengemukakan Orang Dalam Jagaan dari Mahkamah Sepang mengikut Seksyen 30 Akta Penjara yang mengkehendaki banduan menghadirkan diri di mahkamah seperti mana masa dan tempat dinyatakan.

“Berdasarkan rekod, Azilah tidak pernah dibenarkan untuk dibawa keluar dari penjara untuk apa-apa jua urusan selepas tarikh itu,” katanya.

Kenyataan itu juga memaklumkan rekod lawatan dan perjumpaan juga menunjukkan Azilah dilawati sebanyak 34 kali oleh keluarga dan 15 kali oleh peguamnya sejak setahun lalu.

“Lawatan dilakukan seperti mana Peraturan 179 Peraturan Penjara 2000 berhubung lawatan kepada mana-mana banduan akhir.

“Oleh itu, sebarang kenyataan oleh mana-mana pihak yang menyatakan Azilah dibawa keluar dari Penjara Kajang pada tahun ini untuk menemui VVIP adalah tidak benar sama sekali,” katanya.
