This isn’t your average family. Children of Morta takes a strong set of warriors and mixes it with the challenges of family dynamics.
While it seems like there would be no time for sibling fighting with death at their doorstep, you may find some relate-able moments as this family endures and slays together.
In this action-adventure game, you will control members of the Bergson family. With an ever-creeping darkness, The Corruption, threatening their family, the Bergsons are ready to put their strengths to the test. You will guide them against hordes of enemies in dungeons while teamed up with other family members. You can even bring a friend (or sibling) along in local co-op as well.
You may find yourself experimenting with characters, as they all have their own styles. Some children prefer close combat, while others shine from afar – letting you settle into whatever method you prefer to use to destroy your foes. To further your prowess, you can even have a chat with Grandma Margaret or Uncle Ben. They possess ancient knowledge which will help hone your skills and better your equipment.
Children of Morta is full of reasons to play. Between the ever-changing dungeons, character variation and style, attractive pixel art, and fun play style – it’s hard to find a reason not to try it. Above all, the family dynamic is perhaps the most beautifully-designed element. Anyone who’s come from a large family knows it’s hard to accomplish anything without a few squabbles – even if it’s the end of the world. Don’t let the dungeon slaying distract you, as you’re probably still in trouble for fighting with your sister.
On top of that, you’ll encounter heart-touching moments between family members that will make you hell-bent on protecting every member from tragedy. Get to know this beautiful family and keep them safe in Children of Morta.
Children of Morta is available now on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, the Humble Store, Steam, and GoG.
