You need to put together evidence as you search for answers to a murder. But are you putting together the right proof, or are you about to imprison the wrong person?
Hill Agency: BARK & byte takes you to the year 2262. Meeygun Hill is a P.I. who’s buried in cheating spouse cases and missing child files, but soon finds herself working a difficult murder for a woman from the Risen-City barges. This indigenous cybernoir story will follow her as she seeks evidence in the slums and floating palaces of this futuristic North America.
Meeygun has some difficult work ahead, as the game’s events and locations contain real-time elements. Evidence can be missed or misread, leading you down the wrong path. Even so, it’s up to you to compile the case, using an Evidence Board of everything you’ve gathered to draw your own conclusions. Who do you think committed the crime? Do you have enough proof, or are you reading things wrong? You can send the wrong person to jail so long as you have a strong enough case.
Hill Agency: BARK & byte looks to wrestle with some challenging moral questions about detective work alongside the difficulties of figuring out a case. The game’s not just going to hand you a win because you’ve collected the right evidence, resulting in a satisfying experience in doing some actual detective work. So long as you don’t constantly wonder if you locked up the wrong person, that is.
Hill Agency: BARK & byte is currently in development, but you can follow its creation on the developer’s site, offer a donation to the game’s Kickstarter, or play the Feb Fatale Game Jam version that would kicked off this full version.
