IndieGames covered the announcement of a remake of The Binding of Isaac back in December of 2012, and after more than a year and a half, a release date has finally been announced. Dubbed The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, it will be coming to the Playstation 4, PS Vita, Windows, Mac, and Linux on November 4th.
Developer Edmund McMillen says that the game has more than double the content of the original and a two-player local co-op mode which means that the game is "pushing well over 400 hours of gameplay." This remake has been developed with the assistance of Nicalis, who was behind Cave Story+.
There is a launch date announcement trailer which is borderline NSFW, but you can find it and a spoilerific gameplay video on the game's official web site.
They are taking Steam pre-orders at the price of $14.99. A loyalty discount of 33% off is available to current owners of The Binding of Isaac on Steam until the release date. No word has been given about if or when the Playstation versions will be available for pre-order.
