It's been a while since the opening of the last portal to the whimsical, wise and funny Lands of Dream, but, thankfully, Jonas and Verena Kyratzes (with the help of composer Chris Christodoulou) managed to send us as A Postcard From Afthonia and allow us a fresh (Windows only) glimpse of the wondrous going-ons on revolutionary Afthonia.
Now, if you've played the excellent The Sea Will Claim Everything or something like The Fabulous Screech or The Book of Living Magic, you'll know exactly what to expect. An amazingly written point-and-click game filled with outrageous details, proletarian flower pots, wandering philosophers and a heart-warming, clever and thought provoking plot.
If not, well, you know what to expect now, don't you?
A Postcard From Afthonia can be grabbed for absolutely nothing from this place, though I would suggest you consider buying the deluxe edition of the game. It comes with a brilliant video commentary/playthrough, Henry Trollweather's Three Memories PDF and a traditional Afthonian Moussaka Recipe.
