Halloween party ideas 2015

As much as I like living and breathing, I have to admit that the continued existence of us humans might not be the best thing for the planet. If we were to get wiped out, this poor green and blue orb we live on might be better off. That's the line of thinking that informed YCJY's The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human, a story about the last human in existence coming back to the old home planet to have a nostalgic look around. Maybe figure out what happened to all the folks who used to walk around taring at their phones. Despite the soothing sound of The Honeydrips' track playing in the background of the trailer, it sure seems like coming back is a bad idea.

You'll be piloting a sub and trying to find out just what happened to all the humans in the underwater world of The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human. You'll unravel the mystery with some direct exposition through what the game calls holo-tapes, but for the most part, you'll be drawing your conclusions from the ruins and messages you see that have been left behind. This leaves more of the game open to interpretation rather than giving players a direct message, which could lead to some interesting ideas from those who play the game through. Sea life has moved into our old homes, though, and they don't want company, so it will be hard to find all the answers you're looking for.

To keep the focus on exploration most of the time, the aggressive sea life will mainly be composed of the occasional huge boss creature. This adds a tension to the gameplay, as while you may be deep in some cavern looking for holo-tapes or ruins, something could burst from the walls to challenge you. This won't be a frequent occurrence, but it will be hard when it happens, leaving players with long expanses of peace followed by moments of dangerous combat. For every moment alone, you'll be left to wonder what's watching out there and when it will finally strike. Is it worth fighting these colossal beasts just to understand humanity's mistakes? If The Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human gets its Kickstarter funding, we'll all find out.
