Life doesn't seem like it would be too bad for an invisible assassin. It's not like the guards in 12th century Syria have infra-red detection to find you with. Still, blood splatter leaves a nasty mess and floating keys do tend to look pretty peculiar, so there are a couple of ways that a bumbling killer might still get found. The demonic main character of Qasir al-Wasat: International Edition isn't especially durable, either, so if do so much as walk too loud, expect to have your life cut short. Sometimes, a little misdirection is necessary in the newly-released game, though.
The top-down view helps you in your quest to kill three targets a sorceror has tasked you with eliminating. There will likely be many more corpses along your journey, though, as the palace is filled with guards, and they're pretty sharp. They stick close to important locations, only moving if you draw their attention away. Running is a good way to get them to pay attention to you, but they move so fast that you'll have to keep running to stay away. Which means making more noise. Which makes it easier for them to track you. Sure, you could kill them, but then you get covered in their blood, which kind of makes it very easy for anyone to see you. You need to be very cunning to draw their attention and then escape.
The presentation is what makes Qasir al-Wasat really special. The game is filled with music, all created with traditional Arabic instruments. Notes play when characters walk, speak, or die, which makes for a pleasant rhythm game-like quality to it, with your actions helping to guide the music. The visuals have also drawn inspiration from medieval Persian artwork and miniatures, giving the game a unique style. While it's tense to kill your way across the palace, do take a moment to admire the sights and sounds before you bathe yourself in blood again.
