Rom's Truffle Trail wants to teach you the ropes of woodland cuisine, as you'll be acting as an apprentice to Rom, our wise truffle-hunting pig. He knows where the good outdoorsy eating is at, and if you pay attention, he'll teach you the right combinations of foods to cram in your adorable mouth for the best tastes.
Just, you know, don't try to eat the moles. They don't go down easy.
Rom's Truffle Trail gives you a field to step through, with delightful eats lying in your path. You can collect three of a kind in the same color and type, which will make for a mouthful of delicious points. Variety works as well, though, so grabbing three different items (and they all HAVE to be different) also makes for good eating. As you devour these items new foods will take their place, so it will be up to you to shuffle through the field and get as many delightful combinations as you can to grow that score. And grab the occasional truffle that will have you gobbling everything in sight. Except for moles, as too many run-ins with them will have Rom finding new help.
You can tackle forest food hunting in the more tense scoring mode, where you fight to get a lot of points and show your foodie talents, or the more peaceful Zen Mode where you just kind of fiddle with the food lying around. Either way, the game's cute look and charming musical score give Rom's Truffle Trail's an appeal that should have players following their noses to it when it releases.
