Aiming to replicate an authentic Game Boy experience, Squidlit is a new game that feels like a trip down a pea-green memory lane. An adorable, squid-like protagonist will be inking its enemies in this side-scrolling adventure in a quest to help the Squidlits of the world!
Take control of a cute Squidlit whose main offense is a powerful ink spray that it can fire downward, players aiming their jumps in order to hose down their foes. You'll have to use your enemy trouncing powers to progress through the levels and 'spoopy' mansions, some guarded by evil books, winged snakes, and other odd bosses who don't appreciate a face full of ink.
Simple mechanics, a memorable color scheme, and sounds generated on the Game Boy itself all come together to make a new experience that still feels nostalgic, in a way. The developer has gone to great lengths to make sure players who know the Game Boy from their childhood would be able to relive those (battery draining) days. At the same time, new players will be able to experience a cute game while experiencing the classic handheld device, without having to hunt down a physical system OR somehow find that perfect lighting that would actually make the screen visible.
Enjoy a cute cast of characters, a nostalgic experience, and thrilling boss battles in Squidlit!
