Halloween party ideas 2015

BRIGADOR KILLERS has you seeking revenge on traitors using giant mecha with guns for heads and mobile wrecking balls. Try not to let the city or its inhabitants get in the way of your mission.

This sequel to BRIGADOR has you using some heavy machinery to bring down other colossal machines, all while a city gets blown to pieces around you. It’s the sort of experience you come to when you just want to spend a night stomping things flat, shooting down tanks and enemy mechs as you chew through the concrete and glass structures that get in the way of your shots.

In the sample mission we tried at BitSummit 7 Spirits, we took control of a mobile wrecking ball that we could slam into things or use to shoot down enemy machines. Just rolling around devastating the city felt great, with explosions and rubble kicking up all around us. It fully embraced the chaos of combat, creating a spectacle of the devastation around us. It made every shootout with every enemy feel like something from a Summer blockbuster – each moment loaded with fire and wreckage.

There’s still the matter of hunting down your enemies as you fight. They were somewhere out within huge, sprawling maps filled with fleeing people. You have to hunt them down, but a handy indicator shows you the way. Naturally, they have backup, so you’ll find yourself dealing with an array of tanks, chippers, and other machines that mean you harm. You can control your firing direction and aim with your mouse, forcing you to constantly adjust your position to avoid being hit while guiding your own shots, turning combat into a high-speed dance.

That dance is quite compelling, again due to all of that destruction. Weaving around enemy shots as you crush buildings underfoot makes for some fun, ridiculous action if you’re in the mood for some devastation. The 90’s PC art style, reminiscent of games like Crusader: No Remorse, only seems to add to that destructive flair as you weave through shots trying to land your own, all while cities fall around you.

There is likely more to BRIGADOR KILLERS than I am seeing in this demo (it touts being story-driven, which may mean a narrative that deals with the aftermath of my destructive ways), but purely as a game of smashing stuff, it’s top-notch. It’s city-smashing fun, and I’m very interested to see the full game of it in the future.

BRIGADOR KILLERS is currently in development, but in the meantime, you can add it to your Steam Wishlist.
