Think Punch Out!!, but with movie and horror monsters all bent on outboxing you so they can claim your immortal souls. Slightly higher stakes than just losing a belt to Mr. Dream.
Creepy Brawlers sucks an unsuspecting moviegoer into the silver screen, forcing them into an array of boxing matches against vampires, wolfmen, and backwoods killers. You’ll need to duck and weave around their special attacks, because they don’t seem all that concerned with fighting fair. Expect knives, invisible strikes, hammers, and more to get used against you, but you’ll still be stuck using your fists.
Creepy Crawlers isn’t shy about its Punch Out!! inspirations, using a similar perspective and the game’s puzzle-like boxing matches. Still the added coat of monster paint, and the neat abilities that each of these unique creatures has, makes for a silly, yet challenging horror take on boxing.
Also, if you want the experience to feel super authentic, you can get the game on an actual NES cartridge so you can relive those moments of hucking the cart across the room after Super Macho Man thumped you yet again.
Creepy Brawlers is available now on the Nintendo Switch or on an NES cartridge.
