Life is hard, but at least you can take your pets to work in Heads N Tails: Mythical Pet Shop, a game about running a pet-related store while raising your own demanding animals.
As the title suggests, in Heads N Tails: Mythical Pet Shop, your pets are mythical creatures like dragons or yetis, depending on whichever level you choose. You’ll need to balance your work and life, as your pet has various different needs. Food needs to be cooked, the pet needs to play and train, and often they need to be groomed. Whenever your pet wants something, they will ask and wait a little bit before getting grumpy over it not happening.
At the same time, the customers will also want to be served promptly or else they will leave unsatisfied. Your shop is expansive and contains a shelf of stuff to sell, as well as those various tools to care for and train pets like yours. Customers might order something that needs to be crafted, or they might bring in their pet that has a need to be filled.
While playing the demo of Heads N Tails: Mythical Pet Shop at EGX, I did struggle a lot with the controls. They are a bit difficult, especially when it comes to figuring out what you need to do to fulfill a task. The concept behind the game, however, is really quite lovely. I do feel when your pet wants items, they should be free or discounted, but that managing a shop and a pet is really quite a fun time.
All of these pets being mythical creatures makes the game more interesting, and the fantasy element is very well done and the visuals are very nice. I hope the game continues to be developed and polished, staying true to this concept.
