This week's trailer roundup features a lot of puzzle games and games with puzzles in them, but watch out for those stealth games. They'll sneak up on you.
A.V.
Windows, Mac, Linux | reg. $6.99 | Available now
From the developers: "A.V. is a first-person stealth-puzzle-musical-adventure game (Try saying that 5 times fast). The game places the player in the role of a rogue music-processing algorithm from a computer's sound systems. From this role, the player can view the world only through audible means." This was a graduate student project and is 15% off until February 20th.
Bloop Reloaded
Windows | $9.99 | Available now
This is a physics puzzle game. Liquid physics, specifically, and in really cool colors.
GNOG
Windows, Mac, Linux | $TBA | Sometime 2015
From the developer: "The game is about exploring giant monster heads, and the little worlds contained within. We're super inspired by toys like Polly Pocket and Mighty Max (and even Rubik's cubes). It's a musical toy box about the joy and wonder of discovery."
Mekazoo
Windows, PS4, Xbox One, Wii U | $TBA | Q4 2015
This game reminds me a bit of both classic Sonic the Hedgehog and the barrel cannon sections of the Donkey Kong Country games. Players will be able to choose one of five animals to play, each with its own skillset. Their web site has a widget that plays music from the soundtrack, too.
Nebulous
Windows, Mac, Linux | $TBA | Q2 2015 | Greenlight
A physics-based puzzler. Throw an astronaut in a ball around until he makes it into the goal.
Planet of the Eyes
Windows, Mac | $TBA | Sometime 2015
From the developer: "Planet of the Eyes is an action-puzzle platformer with a retro-sci-fi-inspired style and a mystery-driven storyline." They're promising physics-based puzzles, writing by Will O'Neill of Actual Sunlight, and robot deaths.
Planet Quest
iOS | Free (removable ads) | Available now
This one-button rhythm game is free and harder than it looks, with music you can move to and lots of bright colors.
Sneaky Ninja
Windows, Mac, Linux, Wii U | $10+ | October 2015 | Kickstarter
The developer is calling this "a Mario-meets-Mark of the Ninja 2D stealth platformer". They don't mention how adorable the ninja is when it grabs wandering samurai to slay them from its hiding place in the bushes. Sneaky Ninja has already been successfully Greenlit and has raised over 25% of its $10,000 goal at time of this writing with 24 days to go.
Technobabylon
Windows, Mac, Linux | $TBA | Release TBA
From the press release: "Technobabylon takes place in a dystopian cyberpunk future where genetic engineering is the norm, the addictive Trance has replaced almost any need for human interaction, and an omnipresent AI named Central powers the city. Its all-seeing CEL police force keeps tabs on everyone... Latha Sesame is a jobless agoraphobe more comfortable in cyberspace than the outside world. When she unwittingly becomes an assassination target, she's forced to face the dangers of "meatspace" and survive a fate that has invisibly ruled her entire life."
Torsion
Windows, Mac, Linux | $TBA | Release TBA | Greenlight
I don't really know what genre to call this, from the look of it. Crazy action RPG, I think, in which you can upgrade your "gear". Just watch the trailer. Gameplay footage starts about halfway through it.
