Indonesia-based Agate Studio had recently launched a Kickstarter campaign for their upcoming magical school simulator game, Valthirian Arc: Red Covenant. A direct sequel to their popular Valthirian Arc series, players will once again play as the principal of a magical academy for training students with the aim of saving the world.
You're put in charge of building classrooms and facilities, recruiting students, then sending them into dungeons or the battlefield to embark on various quests for the five kingdoms (or "queendoms", as the developers call it) of Valtharia. With enough training and experience, the students of your school can be promoted to job classes such as the knight, paladin, magi, school sage and more. Because each student has their stats, habits and roles, choosing the right mix of party members is vital for the success of any quests undertaken.
"Since the release of Valthirian Arc II, we've been asked by our fans to create the third installment of the series," says Andrew Pratomo, one of the developers from Agate Studio. "We've received tons of great suggestions and ideas for expanding the gameplay and bringing it into bigger audience. Our fans are the driving force for us which has shaped this game from the very start."
Agate Studio is seeking for $40,000 to fund the development of Red Covenant on Kickstarter. The game has already been greenlit on Steam in just seven days, and if the funding campaign is successful we can expect to play the latest entry in the Valthirian Arc series sometime in October next year.
