This will be the last trailer roundup for a few weeks, but I'm happy to say this is a really good one. Space, mourning, consequence, war, sociology, explosions, mushrooms, nightmares, milk, and river rapids.
Everspace

Fragments of Him
Windows; future PS4, XB1 | $TBA | May 3, 2016
From developer Sassybot: "Fragments of Him is a narrative game played in the first person. The story revolves around a tragic accident, and the life of the victim and his loved ones before and after the incident. The player plays through the events and the locations as if they were the spirit or intellect of the characters, making decisions and starting actions that progress the story. Through this snapshot of their lives we see that when a young man suddenly dies, left behind there will always be Fragments of Him." This started as a Ludum Dare 26 game and was one of my favorites that time around.
Great Cascade
Windows, OS X | $TBA | Release TBA | Greenlight
At this point, I feel like "open world" and "your actions matter" have lost most of their meaning, slowly becoming buzz words in the realm of games press. This trailer for Great Cascade, however, gives those words some serious oomph. From the developer: "It's not a morality system. It's not a scripted story with branching paths. It's a system of cause and effect. Characters have unique personality traits, memories, and goals, so they act and react differently."
Himeko Sutori
Windows, OS X, Linux | $15+ | February 2017 | Kickstarter
From the developer: "In a small kingdom on a vast continent, a family is torn apart by civil war. Alliances are made and broken as scheming noble families manipulate events to their advantage. A secretive group, sworn to defend the world, falls apart as dark armies march through undefended portals. Three princesses, feared dead, raise an army gathered from all walks of life: a farmer, a teacher, a sworn retainer, a refugee. Every survivor of every battle grows stronger, until a mighty army stands ready to punish those who caused this suffering. But what use is the bloodshed, if the heroes fight for impossible goals? Noble ambitions might do nothing more than prolong the war. But maybe somehow victory can still be found, depending on how it is defined."
The Mind's Eclipse
Windows, OS X, Linux | $TBA | Fall 2016 | Demo
This is to be a sci-fi visual novel with no romance. From the developer: "Instead, the game promises a mature discussion of sociological and psychological themes related to transhumanism, wrapped in an exciting, mind-bending science fiction tale. The game also features discovering and using items to overcome obstacles and progress the story, adding a level of interactivity not commonly found in the genre."
Murasaki
Windows | $5 | May 13, 2016 | Pre-order
Bullet hell puzzle game from Japan.
Mushroom Crusher Extreme
Windows, OS X, Linux | $TBA | Sometime 2016 | Greenlight | Demo
From developer Mushroom Party: "Mushroom Crusher Extreme is an isometric arcade-style fantasy game, where you take control of Zenon, a mage with a mission to repel the invasion of giant Shrooms on his native archipelago. Battle against time and use your elemental magic to vanquish the invaders before it's too late!"
Severed

From developer DrinkBox Studios (About a Blob, Guacamelee!): "Take control of a one-armed warrior named Sasha, wielding a living sword on her journey through a nightmare world in search of her family. Swipe-based touch controls will let you solve puzzles, find secrets, and do battle with a host of disturbing monsters. As the journey goes on, you'll unlock new abilities, ascend an RPG-style upgrade tree, and tease apart the mysteries of the dark fantasy universe Sasha finds herself in."
Town of Things
Windows | Free | Available now
From developer Max Townsend: "The game gives you the simple mundane task of getting milk. You can simply walk to the store, buy milk, and roll credits. However, if you explore the town, you will get tangled up in all sorts of wacky adventures."
Yakin'
