One of the first things that every indie studio needs is a strong network, and that might take a long time to build. While some countries might have a helping hand from incubators and government support, this might not be the case for a lot of studios. Even the U.S games industry is falling behind on giving help to newer studios as compared to other countries. Thankfully, there is an accelerator that supports studios on a global scale.

Gamefounders is offering 10 game studios access to the big players around the world. Currently there are over 150 mentors in its global network from Blizzard to Valve, Ketchapp to Rovio, Unity to Google. These lucky studios will get to spend 3 months of exclusive access to these mentors and industry giants, learning from them and tapping into their massive network while living in Southeast Asia's gaming hub, Kuala Lumpur. While all studios are encouraged to apply, the main criteria to secure a slot are based on team composition, the vision and the quality the team can produce.

The success stories of GameFounders portfolio teams so far include: Bad Seed Entertainment from Italy that went on to raise investment from Mind the Bridge and United Ventures; IMGNATION Studio from Brazil that went on to raise investment and get accepted to the US based VR accelerator Boost VC; Tiny Lab Productions from Lithuania that was awarded Google Top Developer for the quality of games they produce; Interactive Fate from Estonia that raised investment from a crowd investment platform; Bitcake Studio from Brazil that went on to launch their game Holodrive and grew their players from 10k to a million.

Application is open from now till the 10th of June. On top of access to mentors, GameFounders is providing the new studios with seed capital of up to 15k euros in exchange for a moderate share of equity. Teams are expected to have beta build, prototype or demo their game and are also ready to set up a business. The upcoming 3-month cycle, already sixth for GameFounders, takes off in August 2016 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
