Knight Terrors's heroic knight armor has no time for your faffing about, keeping up constant forward momentum as it tries to cut down every demon, skeleton, zombie, and horror in its path down a seemingly-endless haunted road.
Knight Terrors is a procedurally-generated endless runner, keeping players rushing forward into an infinite stream of new traps and monsters. Foes require a quick, screen-shaking whack on the head with your sword to dispatch, but there tends to be a lot of the critters roaming around. That, and there's all these spiked pits and pillars that players need to hop over. Some handy bat wings make that a snap, allowing players to keep leaping in the air, laughing at other hopping heroes who can only double jump.
Doing it all at once with the game's random array of pitfalls and foes is what brings Knight Terrors together, especially when doing it without being able to stop at all. You do get some power-ups along the way, but for the most part, it's all down to careful timing and persistence if you want those high scores. Besides, someone needs to clear out this road filled with undead.
Knight Terrors is available for $2.99 on the Nintendo eShop. For more information on the game and developer FreakZone Games, you can head to the developer's site or follow them on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter.
