Rot has seeped onto an island, and you’ve got to purge it with adventure, friendship, and environmental care in this mixture of social simulation and RPG.
Garden Story follows Concord, a new village guardian who has to find a cure for the Rot. Not that there isn’t a lot of other stuff to keep you busy (and that might help you in various ways). You can get to know the people of the island and help them with their problems, care for gardens to help grow healthy plants, and explore the island to find hidden places and secret information about the damaging poison that’s seeping onto the island.
Bringing positivity to this island will go a long way in helping it heal. Aiding townsfolk will find them helping you out in some surprising ways. Taking care of some plants may have unexpected effects for the dying vegetation. A calming walk might lead to a place that has many of the answers you seek. By encouraging you to offer a helping hand, the game aims to teach you about the healing powers you possess through caring for your home and its people.
Garden Story looks to have you help out a population in need, but it also aims to give you a place filled with silly neighbors and lush plants to grow, giving you a relaxing place to cultivate and explore. Not a bad little getaway.
Garden Story is currently in development, but in the meantime, you can add it to your Steam Wishlist.
