"There is a tower in the wastes that pierces the cirrostratus cloud layer. There are demons who babble wordlessly in the dark, shifting on their haunches, crying at their own reflections. There is a lyyte so radiant it is said to rend the flesh off bone. There is an old proverb we spend our waking lives interpreting and reinterpreting..."
Doko Roko's tower is a twisting, living place - a whole world built on top of itself as it reaches, tirelessly, to the sky. What are you doing there? Eric Mack, head of Ukobo Games, doesn't say, but he has made it clear that you are in danger. Demons, sorcerors, and other creatures bent by cosmic influence hate you on sight, but you can fight back with stolen magic and colossal swords forged from cursed materials. You're not immune to the same influences that have tainted the other creatures up here, though, so you'll need to take care as you climb higher and higher, seeing the story of The Tower unfold through its environments and secrets. Doko Roko wants to mix fluid, acrobatic action with an unobtrusive, bleak narrative, and after reading what was written above and seeing the game in motion, I couldn't possibly be any more on board.
For more information on Doko Roko and Okobo Games, you can head to the developer's site or follow them on Tumblr, YouTube, and Twitter. They are also looking for funding on Kickstarter.
