Fighting Dark Link brings back terrible memories and the thought of an entire game dedicated to this way of mirroring my play style terrifies me. ECHO analyzes your behavior in the game and uses it to train its enemy A.I. against you. Play stealthy and take out your unaware foes? They will come back stealthier than before.
In ECHO, you will play as En, who has been in stasis for a century and is tasked with reviving a man who should not have died. You will be placed in 'The Palace' - a beautifully-designed place floating in space that is riddled with enemies to encounter. Fortunately, they'll be of a familiar face - your own.
The Palace creates Echoes of you, forcing you to face off against the tactics you display. Shoot enemies a lot and they'll fire back. Hide from them and they'll sneak around. For those of you who get a little bit antsy when up against particularly stealthy sequences, though, fear not! The Palace isn't perfect, and will need to reboot to recalibrate against your tactics. During these 'blackout' sequences, you'll be able to be as aggressive or cowardly as you like, as the enemies won't be learning from you during this time.
